Brussels, 13 October 2014/ ACP: The ACP Secretariat, in collaboration with the Embassies of Guinea, Liberia, Sierra Leone, Nigeria and Ghana, is organising a Symposium on the Ebola Outbreak in West Africa on Friday 17 October 2014, at the ACP House in Brussels.

The aim of the symposium is to take stock of the situation in the affected countries, brainstorm on the best way forward, and come up with recommendations.

Interventions will include statements by the Ambassadors of Guinea, Liberia, Sierra Leone, Nigeria and Ghana, as well as special guest, Professor Aliou Mamadou Baldé (Guinea).

Representatives from the WHO, European Commission, UNICEF, Doctors Without Borders, and UNOPS will also make presentations, followed by an exchange of views.

When: 10.00am – 1.00pm. A press conference will be held immediately after the symposium in Room B.
