Statement by the ACP Group on the suicide attack that took place on 18th January 2017 in Gao, Mali
The ACP Group of States has learnt with deep shock and sadness of the suicide attack that occurred on 18th January 2017 at an army Camp in Gao, Northern part of Mali.
The ACP Group of States expresses heartfelt condolences to the Government and People of Mali particularly to the families of the victims of the suicide bomb explosion.
The ACP Group of States condemns this heinous act of terror that has led to 60 deaths and 115 injured, with the strongest possible terms. The ACP Group of States stands with the People of Mali in solidarity and confirms its strong will to support Mali in its efforts to sustain peace and counter terrorism.
The ACP Group of States reiterates its firm and unconditional rejection of all forms of terrorism and appeals to the international community to renew its commitment in efforts to prevent and combat such acts of terror, by supporting those ACP Group Regional bodies that are engaged in efforts to defeat terrorism in Mali.
