ACP PRESS RELEASE – July 11 2011: The African, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) Secretariat today (11July 2011) launched its new website (www.acp.int).

The new site was welcomed to the cyber-world after months of hard work by the Secretariat’s experts in partnership with "Word and Wires" www.waw.be, a Brussels company who built the site using the open source Content Management System, Drupal.

Secretary-General Dr. Mohamed Ibn Chambas in welcoming the new site said that this is a major step forward in projecting the ACP Group’s image globally and to further enhance its visibility.

One of the many new features of the site is that it provides for content management, where ACP’s missions will have access to coded documents, like the Committee of Ambassadors Reports. Similarly, it provides for more interaction amongst the staff, embassies and our external stakeholders.

The Chef de Cabinet, Dr. Obadiah Mailafia, chaired the development of the new website. The team who worked tirelessly to get the project to a successful completion included Alec Singh, Chief Technology Officer and Robert Iroga, Press Attaché. It was a strong team under the inspirational leadership of Secretary-General Dr. Chambas who gave his blessing and encouragement.

As the site was launched, documents will still be migrated from the old to the new website. The process will take some time to complete. Like many other websites, the ACP website is never completed as it will continue to undergo changes when and so required.
