Brussels, 10 March 2015/ ACP: The Prime Minister of Togo H.E. Kwesi Ahoomey-Zunu met with the ACP Secretary General H.E. Dr Patrick Gomes as well as the Chair of the ACP Committee of Ambassadors, H.E Roy Mickey Joy of Vanuatu during a trip to Brussels last week.

The meeting was an opportunity to discuss enhancing relations between the Republic of Togo and the ACP Group.

“It was very important for us to call on the Prime Minister because the Secretariat has always appreciated the work that Togo has done for the ACP,” said the Secretary General.

“The Prime Minister was especially interested in global trade dynamics as well as the implications of South-South cooperation in the ACP Group. We discussed the tri-continental connections amongst the member countries and the global role of the organisation.”

The ACP delegation also shared updates regarding planned development programmes in the area of climate change, agriculture and food security, and support for the private sector focusing on Small to Medium Enterprises (SMEs).

The Secretary General wished the Government and people of Togo peaceful, democratic Presidential elections, which are schedule for April 2015.
