OACPS SECRETARY GENERAL ARRIVES IN GENEVA FOR A THREE DAY WORKING VISIT
H.E. Georges Rebelo Pinto Chikoti, Secretary-General of the Organisation of African, Caribbean and Pacific States (OACPS) has arrived in Geneva for a three-day working visit. He is accompanied by the Assistant Secretary-General in charge of the department of Structural Economic Transformation and Trade Mr. Escipion Joaquin Oliveira Gomez. The Secretary-General was received and welcomed by staff from the OACPS Geneva Office.
During his three days working visit in Geneva, H.E. Georges Rebelo Pinto Chikoti is scheduled to meet with the OACPS Geneva Group of Ambassadors to discuss issues regarding the OACPS Geneva Group’s participation in WTO negotiations, Secretariat support through the Geneva Office and to provide an update on the new OACPS-EU Partnership Agreement. The Secretary-General Chikoti will also hold meetings with Heads of International Organizations with whom the OACPS Secretariat cooperates, which include the UNCTAD Secretary-General, Ms. Rebeca Grynspan; UNOG Director-General, Ms. Tatiana Valovaya, and WHO Director-General, Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus.
