Brussels, 21 April 2016/ ACP: The Committee of Ambassadors of the African, Caribbean and Pacific Group of States welcomed the new Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania to the EU, H.E. Abdellahi Bah Nagi Kebd at the ACP House on Thursday, 14th April.

Ambassador Kebd, who had also presented his credentials to the King of Belgium on the same day, expressed his solidarity and commitment to the work programme of the ACP Group of States, given the many challenges at international and regional levels.

In his inaugural address to the Committee of Ambassadors, he urged united action to overcome the various challenges faced by ACP countries.

The Dean of the ACP diplomatic corps in Brussels, Ambassador Roy Mickey Joy of Vanuatu and Ambassador Alfredo Lopes Cabral of Guinea-Bissau, representing the West Africa region, conveyed their commitment to support their new peer during his tenure.

The ACP Secretary General Dr. Patrick thanked the new Ambassador, recalling the solidarity that Mauritania has always shown for the ACP, despite internal difficulties facing the country.
