MOU signed between ACP, International Bridges for Justice to promote democracy, rule of law
Brussels, 22 February 2016: An MOU was signed by ACP Secretary General H.E Dr. Patrick I. Gomes and the CEO and Founder of International Bridges for Justice (IBJ) Rev. Karen I. Tse, to promote and support member countries' institutional development in the Rule of Law and Good Governance.
Recognising objectives outlined in the ACP-EU Cotonou Partnership Agreement (Article 33) and the globally-endorsed Agenda 2030 (Sustainable Development Goal 16), the two agreed to act in close cooperation, on matters of mutual interest with a view to harmonising efforts in promoting good governance and the rule of law in Africa, the Caribbean and Pacific.
ACP and IBJ agreed to exchange relevant information and cooperate on building in long-term sustainability into efforts to strengthen institutional democracy in Member States.
