EXPO Milano 2015 seminar on nutrition, food security and sustainable development
Brussels, 24 April 2015/ ACP: The ACP Secretariat and the Italian Permanent Representation will organize a seminar at the ACP House dedicated to the EXPO2015 themes of nutrition, food security and sustainable development, to be held on Tuesday April 28th, 2015.
The seminar will be attended by ACP, EU and other relevant Countries’ Ambassadors in Bruxelles and will have an international panel introducing the main topics of EXPO2015, from a development cooperation perspective.
Introductory remarks will be delivered by the ACP Secretary General, Dr. Patrick I. Gomes, the Italian Permanent Representative to the EU, Ambassador Stefano Sannino.
The seminar will proceed with presentations by: Mr. Roberto Ridolfi, Director DEVCO for sustainable growth, on main EU goals on sustainable development; Mr. Michael Hailu, Director of the CTA, for an insight of best practices in the EU-ACP agricultural cooperation; Ms. Nicoletta Ferro, WOMEN FOR EXPO, highlighting the role of women in agriculture and in promoting social growth; Mr. Goodwin Frazer, SAVE THE CHILDREN, stressing the protection of children and promotion of education in agriculture; Mr. Maroun El Moujabber, CIHAM-Bari, for the presentation of “Feeding Knowledge”, one of EXPO2015 leading projects to build up an international network of best practices in the sector; Emy-Louise Dent, EU Team EXPO2015, for a presentation of EU pavilion.
The workshop will be held at the ACP House in Bruxelles, on April 28th, 2015, from 10:30 to 13.00 and will be followed by an Italian refreshment.
