Decision 4 – 99th session of the ACP Council of Ministers, 16-18 June 2014: DECLARATION ON THE 3rd INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON SIDS
The ACP Council of Ministers,
Meeting in Nairobi, Kenya, from 16th to 18th June 2014,
A. RECALLING the decision made by the Committee of Ambassadors at its 871st meeting, held on 27th March 2014, mandating the Ad-hoc Working Group (AWG) on the Post-2015 Development Agenda, to develop an ACP Declaration on the Third International Conference on Small Island Developing States (SIDS);
B. RECOGNIZING the special environmental and developmental challenges facing all ACP States particularly, Small Island Developing Countries (SIDS) and Landlocked States, in achieving Sustainable Development;
C. TAKING INTO ACCOUNT the Report of the Committee of Ambassadors on the Ad-hoc Working Group (AWG) on the Post-2015 Development Agenda;
HEREBY DECIDES TO:
1. Approve the ACP Declaration on the Third International Conference on Small Island Developing States (SIDS) (ACP/84/028/14 Final);
2. Commend the Committee of Ambassadors for its efforts in developing the ACP Declaration on the Third International Conference on Small Island Developing States (SIDS); and
3. Mandate the Committee of Ambassadors tomake the necessary arrangements to enable the Declaration to be delivered during the Third International Conference on SIDS in Apia, Samoa.
