Brussels, 15 April 2014/ ACP: The ACP Secretariat has announced a Call for Proposals for activities aimed at improving the competitiveness and sustainability of the African cotton sectors.
The global objective of this Call for Proposals is directly related to that of the support programme for the consolidation of the EU-Africa partnership on cotton, that is, to contribute to the sustainable improvement of the competitiveness, added value, and profitability of the African cotton sector, so as to optimize its impact on the income of the producers.
Result areas expected include:
1) regional cotton strategies are operational at national level and coordinated under a continental approach
2) the capacities of professional cotton associations are strengthened in terms of planning and monitoring of strategy implementation
3) internal competitiveness and sustainability of African cotton sectors are strengthened
The overall indicative amount made available under this Call for Proposals is € 1,500,000. Any grant requested under this Call for Proposals must fall between minimum amount: € 80,000 and maximum amount: € 300,000, with maximum 90% financing of total eligible costs.
Concept notes must be submitted in a sealed envelope by registered mail, private courier service or by hand-delivery (a signed and dated certificate of receipt will be given to the deliverer) to the address below:
