ACP welcomes new Assistant Secretary General
Brussels, 23 September 2014/ ACP: Mrs. Ivy Dondo Chaza was presented to the Committee of Ambassadors on Thursday as the newly appointed ACP Assistant Secretary General in charge of Administration, Finance and Human Resources. Her tenure began on 1 September 2014.
Mrs Chaza, a Botswanan national, has worked in finance and administration for more than 26 years, with extensive experience in the private sector and government. She was previously Financial & Administration Director for the Dynamic Road Services company based in Botswana, also held positions of Corporate Services Manager and Logistics & Materials Manager at Water Utilities Corporation, a para-statal organisation in Botswana.
She is a Certified Chartered Accountant with a Master’s degree in Business Administration and a Bachelor’s in Commerce from the University of Botswana. She holds particular expertise in budget planning, accounts management, and procurement, as well as being trained in audit methodology under the global accounting firms Pim Goldby Chartered Accountants and KPMG.
In her capacity as Assistant Secretary General in charge of Administration, Finance and Human Resources at the ACP Secretariat, Mrs Chaza is responsible for the cornerstone department of the institution, managing the overall budget and financial activities, overseeing operations and running of the Secretariat, as well as the effective management of personnel.
She holds the post for the remainder of the current management term, replacing Mrs Nthisana Phillips who ended services in March.
