Brussels, 9 March 2015: The Secretary-General of the African, Caribbean and Pacific Group of States (ACP Group), Dr Patrick I. Gomes, was outraged to learn of the terrorist attack on a restaurant in Bamako on 7 March 2015, in which five people were killed and several wounded.

Secretary-General Gomes condemns in the strongest terms, this heinous act which highlights, once again, the need for widespread and general mobilisation to combat terrorism.

The Secretary-General extends his condolences to the Malian authorities and the families of the victims and calls for an inquiry to identify, arrest and prosecute both the perpetrators and those who ordered the attack.
