Brussels, 21 September 2016/ ACP: The African, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) Group of States express deep concern at the violent clashes that erupted in Kinshasa on 19th September 2016 that claimed lives of security personnel and protestors.
The ACP Group condemns these acts of violence and calls for all parties involved to exercise restraint and urges them to take measures to calm the situation in order to stop further violence that could aggravate the situation.
The ACP Group calls for peaceful resolution through dialogue, respect for the rule of law and restoration of an environment of social harmony for the good of the entire country.
The ACP Group of States seizes this opportunity to support all efforts by the all concerned to restore peace.
