Statement of the Secretary-General of the OACPS on the elections in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines
Brussels, 12 November 2020/OACPS: On behalf of the Organisation of African, Caribbean and Pacific States (OACPS), the Secretary-General, H.E. Mr. Georges Rebelo Pinto Chikoti, welcomes the outcome of the successful general elections in St. Vincent and the Grenadines, held on 5 November 2020. He congratulates the Vincentian people, who, through their exemplary and peaceful election process, have once again demonstrated their commitment to democracy, peace and stability
The Secretary-General congratulates the Honourable Dr. Ralph E. Gonsalves on his party’s victory and on his 5th election as Prime Minister, which attests to the confidence placed in him and demonstrates the maturity of democracy in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
In conveying his felicitations to the Prime Minister and his Cabinet, the Secretary-General also wishes them every success in the execution of their mandate. H.E. Mr. Chikoti further reiterates his commitment to working closely with Prime Minister Gonsalves in the pursuit of the regional agenda, and to achieve Sustainable Inclusive Economic Development for St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
