Brussels, 10 August 2021/OACPS: The hybrid 112th Session of the Council of Ministers of the Organisation of African, Caribbean and Pacific States was held on 6 – 8 July 2021. The Session was chaired by the Hon. Mr.Jeremiah Manele, Minister for Foreign Affairs and External Trade of the Solomon Islands and President-in-Office of the OACPS Council of Ministers.

At the meeting, the ministers and their representatives approved nine decisions and six resolutions on key issues affecting OACPS Member States as well as the administrative and financial management of the Organisation.

Decisions:

  1. Decision on the extension of the timeframe to sign and ratify the Georgetown Agreement
  2. Decision on the OACPS Secretariat’s Budget for Financial Year 2021
  3. Decision on the financial situation of the OACPS Secretariat
  4. Decision on the restructuring process of the OACPS, including its Secretariat
  5. Decision on the implementation modalities for OACPS SIDS cross-cutting priorities
  6. Decision on the creation of an OACPS food systems transformation mechanism
  7. Decision on the deferral of the 7th Meeting of OACPS Ministers in charge of Fisheries and Aquaculture
  8. Decision on the new OACPS-EU Partnership Agreement
  9. Decision on the outcome of the informal meeting of the OACPS Ministers with responsibilities for fisheries subsidies negotiations in the WTO

  2. Resolution on Biodiversity for the 15th Session of the UN Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity (COP15)

  4. European Union (EU) list of non-cooperative tax jurisdictions and that of high-risk third countries with strategic deficiencies in their anti-money laundering and countering the financing of terrorism (AML/CFT) regimes
  5. Resolution on the Economic, Commercial and Financial blockage imposed by the United States of America against Cuba
  6. Resolution on the Guyana-Venezuela Border Controversy
