Climate Action and Resilience
Climate Action & Resilience
Strengthening climate resilience and environmental sustainability across Africa, the Caribbean and the Pacific
The Organisation of African, Caribbean and Pacific States (OACPS) supports its 79 Member States in addressing the climate emergency through coordinated policy action, access to climate finance, technical assistance, and climate diplomacy.
As a core pillar of the PACTE Initiative (2025–2030), Climate Action & Resilience advances adaptation, mitigation, biodiversity protection, and sustainable development pathways aligned with the Paris Agreement, the Samoa Agreement, and the 2030 Agenda.
A PACTE Pillar for Climate Resilience
Under Pillar III of the PACTE Initiative, OACPS Climate Action & Resilience focuses on:
- Supporting national adaptation and mitigation strategies
- Facilitating access to international climate finance
- Strengthening South–South cooperation and peer learning
- Mainstreaming climate considerations across trade, governance, and development actions
Climate resilience is treated as a cross-cutting enabler that reinforces economic transformation, democratic governance, and institutional capacity.
